Pietermaritzburg: The Endurance City This city is the capital of endurance sports. It hosts the start (or finish) of the Comrades Marathon and the start of the Dusi Canoe Marathon, one of the world’s toughest river races. It also hosts the Royal Show, the province’s largest and oldest agricultural fair.
